Operations Manager/Program Director
Tim has been the Operations Manager/Program Director for WHOM since 1991.
Born and raised in Washington D.C., Tim graduated from the Ohio State University in 1980 with a degree in Business Management. While in school, the radio bug hit hard and Tim started as a volunteer DJ at WOSR, the campus radio station at OSU. Music Director and Program Director stints followed. After all that schooling, it was now time to starve as a disc jockey! Tim worked at WMNI and WBNS AM/FM in Columbus, WMAL and WRQX in Washington and sold airtime for WVBK in Reston Va.
In 1982, it was off to Maine for the first time, the job was to put WKSQ in Ellsworth on the air and serve as it's first Program Director. Tim eventually added Morning Drive host duties to his daily "to do" list and Kiss 94.5 became the dominant station in the Bangor market, winning "Small Market Radio Station of The Year" honors from Billboard Magazine in 1983. In 1991, it was off to Portland and WHOM, "America's Superstation"! Tim served as afternoon Host and Program Director and eventually hosted the original "More Music Morning Show"! He was the Operations Manager for Sports station WJAB-AM until its sale in 1998. He is also the Program Director for sister Top 40 station WJBQ-FM (Q97.9), which earned company-wide "Radio Station Of The Year" honors for Citadel Broadcasting in 2005
Tim has served as Chaiman of The Board for the Maine Association of Broadcasters and in several other capacities for the MAB, as well as being involved in the many charity drives that WHOM and WJBQ support.
Tim is married to Peggy and has three "incredible" children-spread from college to high school to elementary school-age to occupy his non-working hours. Golf, reading and writing are hobbies, as well as collecting presidential campaign memorabilia and following his beloved Red Sox, Redskins and Buckeyes!
Tim Moore can be heard Saturday nights from 6P-Midnight and as a fill-in host whenever someone is out sick or on vacation!
